These were the ones chelly_bear asked me:

1. Who is your favorite Red Sox that is not Pedroia and why.

Oooo, Idk. I'd probably say Jon Lester since he's a good pitcher and it took a lot of courage for him to overcome his battle with cancer. Plus, he seems like a nice guy.

2. MFK: A-Rod, Jeter, Pedroia

M: Jeter. He'd make a great husband. *gushes*
F: A-rod. Hello? Have you seen that guy?! He's the stuff that fantasies are made of while you fap off to them!
K: Pedroia. I may have a huge soft spot for my little gnome, Dusty, but pinstripes are forever. (However, I couldn't bear to do that with my bear hands, so it'll be an inside job and they have to poison him. I don't want him to suffer.)

3. All-time favorite Yankee

I love my boys, but it's Reggie Jackson hands down.

4. What is your favorite song?

I don't know. There's so many, so for now, I'll say Lovefool by The Cardigans. Even though the lyrics don't exactly match, it makes me think of my OC Chris trying to woo my other OC Mike/Barty while he's resisting him.

5. Favorite non Yankee and why.

I wouldn't say favorite since I don't really have one, but I do like Torii Hunter and Justin Verlander. Verlander because he's a good pitcher and he's hilarious and Hunter because the guy's just wacky and he seems like he'd be a good leader for the Angels. They should make him Captain.

These were the answers to the questions that lissa_ann asked me from a meme:

-1) How'd you become a baseball fan? Why the Yankees?

Well, when I was younger, my dad would have baseball games on the Tv. When I was seven, I remember coming into his room to hang out with him one night and I saw someone running past first base and they called him safe. At the time, I was wondering 'How could he be safe? He ran past first.' since they played baseball at my school differently. I asked my dad and he explained it to me. I became very inerested and I started watching. The rest is history.

As for Why the Yankees, well honestly, my mom was a Mets fan and while me dad wasn't a diehard, he still liked to watch the Yankees. That same night I started to watch baseball, the Yankees were facing the Mets. My dad asked me which team did I think was going to win that night. Since things are so simple when you're younger, I looked at which team was winning at the moment, which happened to be the Yankees. They won that night and after that, I started to follow the Yankees and didn't look back.

-2) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hmm...Hopefully I'm happily married by that time.

-3) What keeps you up at night?

Usually my computer does.

-4) 5 CDs or 16 songs you can't live without.

I don't really have anything in particular to that description. Just as long as it's something 80's, Green day, Fall out boy, classical, or Pop.

-5) Have you ever seen a Broadway show? If so, what did you think?

I've seen The producers. I absolutely loved it! <3

Anon post

I kinda stole this from chelly_bear, but anyway:

Post anon and tell me:

1. One secret.
2. One compliment.
3. One non-compliment.
4. One love note, but it does not have to be for me.
5. Lyrics to a song.
6. How old you are.
7. How long we've been friends.
8. And a hint to who you are.

Late night picspams

So after much consideration and adjusting, I'm finally coming to terms with my soft spot for Pedroia. Even more so seeing as though I decided to get a few new icons of him.

Getting back to the main reason of this post, I've put up a picspam of Marco Scutaro that I'm dedicating to my buddie, [info]chelly_bear

Scooter welcomes youCollapse )

Yup. That's right, folks. Alex is heading to the DL. I really hope he can get better soon along with Andy Pettitte who's also on the DL because we're going to need everyone in the long run and during our run into the playoffs.

Anyway, So I'm watching the outings of different pitchers on the Yankees and I'm wondering why Aj's been struggling so much. It's so frustrating and irritating seeing him giving up so many runs as well as Vazquez because I know deep down that Aj's a great pitcher and he was doing fine in the beginning of the year, so to start struggling like he's been struggling like he's been since June is just....*sigh* Oh well....I'm sure that him and Vazquez can be able to get it together. I'm not giving up on them. They're part of the Yankees, and I can't like or love something in slices. It's either all or nothing, so I'm giving them all of my support.

Pedroia's on there too because he's having problems with his foot again. I figured it's understandable why I'm highly upset about Alex being on the DL. He's my third baseman. He's on my favorite baseball team. Though at the same time, part of me can't help feeling somewhat perturbed knowing that the gnome's having problems with his foot and that he's out again. I remember a few years back before my current mentality of baseball formed, I was COMPLETELY sucked into the hype machine. Booing at the TV screen every time a Red Sox batter came up to bat (I would do this at the stadium too), constantly trash talking about them (and the Mets), the list of idiocies, unnecessary hatred, and nonsense about the Red Sox that would come spewing out of my mouth at any given moment someone mentioned them. It would go on and on and on.

Long story short, I did some growing up and realized that wasn't the way to go about things. I started to realize the reality behind the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry and how ignorant I was being. How I was going overboard with it. (Now, to anyone read this, whether they're a Yankees fan or a Red Sox fan, I will say this:

I am not saying that if you do any of the habits I used to do that I described above, that it makes you immature, oblivious or anything else insulting. Those are just my views into the perception the fans have about the Yankees/Red sox rivalry. So, if you're offended by this, then I'm sorry, but everyone sees things in a different light.)

However, during my many conversations with chelly_bear, I realized that I've grown a soft spot for Pedroia. She keeps telling me it shouldn't matter that he's on the Sox and that I should just embrace it, but even though I'm trying to, deep down I'm still very reluctant to do so and I find it completely disconcerting that it even happened in the first place. Maybe it's the whole thing Yankees-aren't-supposed-to-like-Red Sox thing and visa versa and I'm still shaking some bits of immaturity I have towards the whole Yankees/Red Sox rivalry. Maybe it's guilt. I don't know......

Alex Rodriguez, Andy Pettitte, and Dustin Pedroia on the DL + Inconsistency of Aj Burnett and Javier Vazquez = THIS REALLY BLOWS =(

Congradulations, Alex!

ETA: Just some screen caps from
slashfictionfan for you. And guess who was on base and at home plate to congradulate Alex?

Derek/Alex bromanceCollapse )

Well, that was fun

So, on Saturday, I went to the Yankees/Mets game with a couple of friends of mine. The place was pretty packed, but the game was awesome. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get a chance to see Derek and Alex play on the field, but at least I saw them. Even the fans were getting into it. We wound up sitting near a rowdy Mets fan who kept chanting Yankees suck for almost the entire game and some guy in a Rodriguez shirt got sick of it and yelled out "Go back to Flushing!". Then some one yelled after him "Yeah, Let's go Mets. Straight into the dugout!" Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera. I can be such an idiot at times =P

Anyway, so I have some more pictures for you guys.

This 1st picture was inspired by Derek messing around with Alex on the field

The next two pictures I blame on my mind and my current mood. The 2nd pic is dedicated to [info]chelly_bear.

I hope it's skimpy enough for you! XD

More pictures to come later on!

Uh, a little help, please?

First, to [info]slashfictionfan,  thank you for the lovely flowers. Now, I'm planning on drawing some pictures for some of the members of [info]yankee_babes, only I'm a little short on ideas. If anyone can think of something, it would be very helpful.

Strip dance (continued) and a silly issue

Here's the conclusion of the Strip dance comic I dedicated to anjak_j. If there's any trouble reading it, let me know:

Anyway, so I'm sure that many of you have heard about the pitching mound issue invovling Alex Rodriguez and the Athletics pitcher, Braden. Yes, I know the issue is somewhat old news, but I still don't believe Braden was overreacting on such a petty situation. I don't remember seeing a rule written down anywhere in baseball that states a baserunner isn't supposed to cross over a pitching mound. Then what got me was the fact that the guy mentioned Jeter with this statement:

"He should probably take a note from his captain over there and realize you don't cross the pitcher's mound in between an inning or during the game. I was just dumbfounded that he would let that slip his mind -- being someone of such status."

First off, why is he even mentioning Jeter in this situation?  He had nothing to do with it. But either way, the captain didn't stand on Braden's side with his response:

"It never crossed my mind. I've never heard that before. If you asked me that question yesterday before the game, it's one of those things I'd never think of. It isn't like Braden brought it from home, you know what I mean?"

Then Braden continues to go on with his rant:

"The guy was tasting himself too long to apologize...."

Really? If anything, Braden's the one who should be apologizing since he made himself look like a three year-old jackass and unnecessarily inflated a petty situation. As for Alex's response, I think he handled the situation pretty well, stating ""He just told me to get off his mound. That was a little surprising. I'd never quite heard that, especially from a guy that has a handful of wins in his career."
"I didn't even know he was talking to me. I've never heard of that in my career. I still don't know. I thought it was pretty funny, actually."

I kept hearing about this the whole entire weekend after it happened and I couldn't help but draw this:

Strip dance (Part 1)

Ok, I REALLY need to update on my journal and start drawing more often. Anyway, aside from me being craptastic on Lj, I want to say thank you to anjak_j for the lovely Derek and Alex squirrels in love. I'm also dedicating this 2-part picture to her. It's based on this video here of Pedroia:

So after seeing this and talking to her on a post riddering put up on [info]yankee_babes
I couldn't resist drawing this picture. The second part should be up around Saturday or Sunday:
